Our practice schedule

Snapbucket

This is our practice schedule for the week as of right now.  Our practices usually run about two hours.  The running we are doing is about 20 to 30 min worth of running for the entire team. As much as possible the work outs are varied through the week.

This past week the running we did was. A timed mile on Monday, sprints(2x 200m, 3x 100m, 4x 50m) on Tuesday, two stadium runs on Wednesday, 200 meter burpee's and 100 m wheelbarrow, and today we will have a light run.  The technique we went over was, front headlocks(getting a front headlock from the snap down, two on one, and under hook; spinning around to score, head in the hole, and misdirection spin around) neutral, standup review and hammer lock(getting the hammer lock, scoring near fall with a hammer lock tilt, transitioning into a cradle, break down into the hammer lock) on the mat.

Starting off this season with underhook set ups

Now that we are starting to have a little more wrestlers showing up we are going to start going over moves. Although this may be review for some of the returning wrestlers it is still important to practice it as well as re learn it, in the case that one forgets some of the technique. Yesterday was the first day of a sort of official wrestling practice and we decided to go over using underhooks as a set up. There are more moves one may use off of an underhook but in an attempt not to confuse anyone we stuck to three moves that you can get off of an underhook. The first move being a front head lock, second being a knee pick, and the third move being a throw by. I will post more info and media(pics and/or video) when i have a chance.

The circuit we are currently using

For practices we are currently spending the first hour conditioning and getting in shape. To do this we do 2 different circuits.  We do the first set of each circuit 30 seconds a station then the second  set at 20 seconds a station.  Right now this is working perfectly, my wrestlers are coming off a break and are a little out of shape.  These circuits are not meant to take the place of lifting and I need to make sure they know this.

*As soon as I get some I will post some pictures. Also the sandbag, and PVC pipe are homemade so I will show how we made those as well.
